Lord Colin Moynihan, Chairman of the British Olympic Association, which will host the 2012 Olympics, is a confirmed speaker for the Paris conference. He will share the panel, "The Politics of the Olympics" with IAPC member Bob Penner, who helped secure the 2010 Winter Olympics for the city of Vancouver.
In addition to serving as Chairman of the British Olympic Association, Lord Moynihan is a member of the Olympic Board and a non-executive Director of The London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games. He was a Rowing Silver Medalist in the 1980 Olympic Games.
Lord Moynihan was a Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom for ten years. He also served in the cabinets of both Margaret Thatcher and John Major. He was Minister for Sport between 1987 and 1990 and served as Minister for Energy from 1990 to 1992.
